600W RV Solar System

600W RV Solar System for RVs and Cargo Trailers

At Great Outdoors Solar, our 600W RV Solar System is a solid choice for solo RV travelers who love to camp off-grid for a while—or couples who just need a few nights of boondocking bliss. It’s reliable, efficient, and designed to keep your essentials powered without overdoing it.

This setup is great for running your RV 12V DC basics (like lights, vent fans, and USB outlets) as well as small 120V AC gadgets (phones, laptops, and TVs) for days on end. You’ll also get a decent run-time out of bigger power-hungry appliances like a microwave, hair dryer, or even your RV’s A/C—just not all at once and not all day.

Want to tweak it to fit your rig? No problem—this system is fully customizable. Or if you're dreaming bigger, check out our 1000W System for even more off-grid freedom.

FAQ's

Will the 600W RV Solar System work for my RV?

In most cases, yes. The 600W RV Solar System typically fits RVs that are 25 feet or longer. If your rig is smaller, there’s still a good chance we can make it work—we just need to take some measurements to be sure.

Schedule your solar consultation to find out if this system fits your RV, and remember, we can always customize it to match your setup and travel style.

It can, but not all day or overnight. The 600W system can run a single RV roof air conditioner for around 2.5 hours without incoming solar, which is perfect for cooling things down during a lunch stop or quick break on the road. If the sun’s out and panels are pulling in power, you’ll get even more run time.

Planning to run your A/C often or for longer stretches? You might want to check out our 1000W RV Solar System or ask us about custom upgrades.

If you’ve got a smaller rig like a van, Class B, truck camper, or short Class C, then yep—we highly recommend a chassis charger. A chassis charger pulls power from your engine while you drive and sends it to your house batteries. It’s especially handy if your roof space is limited or you’re rolling without a toad.

These little power boosters crank out around 360 watts while you’re on the road, which helps keep your batteries topped off between campsites. For smaller RVs that move often and don’t have much room for solar, a chassis charger is a smart add-on.

NOTE: While we can install the chassis charger component on the RV side, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with the chassis manufacturer to have them install the chassis side.

No stress—we’ve got options. If one big 300Ah lithium battery doesn’t fit your space, we’ll swap it out for multiple smaller ones that add up to similar power. It’s all about making the system work with your floorplan, not the other way around.

We’re here to help you find the right battery setup that fits your rig and keeps your power flowing off-grid.

Schedule your RV solar consultation and let’s build a system that fits your space and your travel style.

Disclaimer

Pricing reflects a typical RV solar installation. While we do our best to design a system that fits your rig before we ever turn a wrench, some RVs may need extra parts, wiring, or labor due to their unique layout. If that’s the case, we’ll let you know as soon as we do so there’s no surprises.
